Remembered the killed Japanese engineers
Inaugurating the metro services, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that today we have achieved one more achievement for the people of our country. During this, he also remembered the six Japanese engineers killed during the construction of the project. These engineers were killed in 2016 during an attack on a cafe in Dhaka by terrorists.
A total of 29 people including 20 hostages were killed in this attack. It is noteworthy that in June PM Hasina inaugurated the 6.51-km (4.04-mile) bridge spanning the Padma River. This bridge was built by China at a cost of about $3.6 billion and paid for from domestic funds.
